How to Use ChatGPT for SEO Keyword Research
One of the #1 problems that I see beginners face is SEO keyword research on their brand new website domain.
Skipping this step could mean wasting weeks or months of your time writing unfocused content that nobody is searching for...
On the other hand, you may have heard me or other experts recommend expensive tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush that start around $99 USD per month.
Thanks to ChatGPT, now we can perform "good enough" keyword research for FREE!
Now the mistake most beginners make with using ChatGPT is that their prompt is too broad and general, leading to lackluster results.
My strategy here is to actually start by generating keyword topic clusters, instead of keywords straightaway.
Try this prompt first: "10 SEO topic clusters in the <insert your niche here> niche with easy difficulty"
The topic cluster can be used as a "Category" on your website, and from here we will now generate our keywords. This makes our search much more specific and targeted.
Now use this prompt after: "10 SEO keywords in the <insert topic cluster here> niche with easy difficulty"
And there you have it! Here are 10 solid keyword opportunities in a targeted topic cluster, which we can write an individual blog post for each one.
By going for a specific topic cluster instead of a broad niche, we establish topical authority which is good news for Google rankings.
ChatGPT for Generating SEO Blog Article Titles and Ideas
Now that we have our keyword list, it's time to transform those keywords into catchy SEO blog titles.
Your blog titles are equally important as your content since they entirely determine your Click-Through Rate (CTR) from the Google Search results to your website!
Imagine you spend hours and hours writing a perfectly-crafted blog post, all for potential visitors to completely skip your blog post on the search engine results due to a boring, unattractive title.
Try this prompt: "5 blog article titles about "<insert keyword from step 1 here>". 60 characters limit. Must include a number."
The best meta titles should have less than 60 characters to avoid being cut off in the SERPs, and including a number gives that copywriting edge that hits on human psychology (think BuzzFeed listicle style articles).
How to write a blog post article with ChatGPT in minutes
Here is what most people have been dreaming of since the beginning of their affiliate journey, the ability to write thousand-word blog post articles in minutes, WITHOUT having to pay expensive freelance writers.
Prior to ChatGPT, I used to use sites like Fiverr and Upwork to hire freelance writers, typically paying upwards of $100 per article with about a 2-3 day turnaround time.
If I'm being completely honest, I think that the quality of the output from ChatGPT (especially the more fine-tuned AI software like JetPage) is higher than any of the human writers I've hired. Not to mention is delivered in mere minutes instead of days!
Try this prompt for blog post writing: "Write a blog article on "<insert blog article title from step 2 here>". No sentences over 20 words. Use active voice instead of passive voice."
There you have it! That prompt should generate a solid first draft of your blog post with about 500 words, and with some SEO optimization built-in.
Of course, you shouldn't try to directly publish that first draft, and should look to increase that word count closer to 1,000 words total.
You will also need to focus on formatting that post with proper HTML tags like <H2> for your headings, plus adding images with alt-text.
